Thankful for so many things.
Big and Little.
Family and friends.
Here are a few little things from this week.
Thankful that Angie and Allen got me a housewarming gift that was totally unexpected……and totally wanted.
Let me tell you the background on these glasses. Remember AtHomeAmerica that I told you about a few weeks ago? Well, this summer they had these glasses that had vintage milk cap labels on the front.
I wanted them in a bad way. A bad way. I looked at them for 2 months. But we could not afford them. We were sucking it up this summer, literally. Our electric bill on the new house about killed us plus all the other expenses of a new house.
So, I showed them to Derek about 50 times…I thought about them a bunch, I checked all the time to see if they were sold out. Payday after payday went but no extra cash………and then they were gone.
I was bummed, really bummed. But I moved on. Let it go.
Then I taught on Saturday and Angie and Allen showed up to say hi and to bring me these…………….

I NEVER mentioned on my blog how much I wanted these…….nope not once, because I didn’t want you all to buy them and have them be sold out!
Kidding, kind of.
Karma. Thank you Angie and Allen.
Thankful for this dish towel from Jeannie. She was a student of mine in Texas…I adored her. I mean adored her. She came across this dish towel and said that she had to buy it for me because it was so “me”….and it was. I love it so much. It is still wrinkled from our move….I need to iron it.

Sadly, Jeannie passed away right after we moved to California. I still think of her so often. It’s been 3 years. She was so funny, she used to make me autograph every project after a class. I used to just turn bright red….and now I am sure her family is wondering who “Katie Watson” is….well, Katie Watson is somebody who thought that Miss Jeannie was a special woman and she is super proud and thankful to have known her.
I am thankful that this man chose me. Things have not always been easy in our life, we have had a lot of challenges but I swear it is because of him that we made it through. He is my rock. This is a picture of us when we were dating.

I am thankful that my husband finally got to fulfill his lifelong dream of being a Navy Pilot. This was his dream forever. He had a long journey to get there…but that is a story for another day. This is me pinning his wings on him after he graduated from flight school.

After I pinned his wings on, he gave me a gold necklace with wings on it. He said that “I had earned my wings along with him”. I never take it off. Ever.

I am thankful for having my brother Ben for 19 short years.

Thankful for having sweet Ian for in my life. I met him when he was 8 so I got him for 11 years. Still so odd that they both died at age 19. Can’t get over that.

Thankful that I married into a wonderful, loving family. I would be so lost without them. They ground me for sure. (OMG, way old picture…we all look a bit different.)

Thankful to Maya Road for seeing something in me and offering me a design team position. I love the company and the product. I hope they keep me for a long time.

Thankful for my new “forever” house. This is Hannah today….kicking it with her Daddy’s Charger blanket.

Thankful for my kitties……… Gracie May and Ruby.

This little alley cat grew into this sweet girl who puts up with way more then a cat should ever have to put up with!

And thankful for my 3 kids. I will love them forever.

So very much to be thankful for….little and big………..oh yeah…and I am totally thankful for my Craig’s list score…..

OK, the turkey must go in the oven…………..so my time is up!
Happy Thanksgiving!
~Katie
