Another busy week, as usual but a fun one. The tree is up, the stockings are hung and the yearly banner/advent is made!
This one was an idea that I had as soon as I saw the Maya Road envelopes….but I had other projects that I had to finish first…and then I dragged this one out a bit but finally finished it.
Every Year I make an advent calender or a banner for the Christmas season. Here are some from years past.

You can find the Making Memories one above HERE with a few basic instructions.

You can go to the Pink Paislee Blog for my tutorial and download the calendar template for the project above by going HERE.
This year, I made a banner AND an advent calender mixed together. Clever girl, aren’t I? Just sometimes, believe me…I spend the other half of my time clueless.

Man does that wall look blank………that is SO next on my list. Anyway…..here is more without lights though. Hannah wrapped the lights around the banister last night. She did an excellent job and is officially hired, every year.
I used 2 1/2 packs of the Maya Road Rectangular and Square Envelopes and lots of my favorite gingham ribbon in red. I also used the Gorgeous Cosmo Cricket Jolly By Golly Christmas Line.

The concept is………25 days, 25 envelopes, 25 notes inside. Each note is like a coupon…..maybe for playing a game, or for hot chocolate, a special movie……..you can randomly add some low balance gift cards. A $5 Starbucks card will buy a kid 4 hot chocolates off the kids menu.
Be creative, make it personal. Make each envelope full of something that will be special to your child.
My girls are 8 and 10 years old and they have no problem opening the envelopes. In fact, they are experts…they helped me prep for my last class! But if your child is younger then maybe put a piece of velcro and velcro it shut. Or open it with them to assist in the opening.

You can read more about this project on the Maya Road DT blog just go HERE.
The envelopes are in stock at 2peas………. as is all the NEW Maya Road Product that was just released.
Jolly By Golly (the mini deck would be perfect for these)
Here is one more little banner or garland that I did using Jolly By Golly that came in my November Kenner Road kit.

Well, I suppose I should go and do something productive……dishes, laundry………blah.
